Witnessing - Why Witness? Part 3 of 13

Preview: A study of how, why, and when we should witness for God. This is the third part of a thirteen-part series on this subject.


Scripture Reading: Acts 8:1-17.

Memory Verse: Acts 8:25.

1. Discuss how the apostles obeyed their call to witness in the foregoing Scriptures. What were the results?
2. Does God direct us to witness to individuals as well as multitudes? Acts 8:26-27.
3. Why did God send Philip to witness to one man? Acts 8:28-31.
4. What saving message did he bring? Acts 8:32-35.
5. What were the results? Acts 8:36-38.
Note: Here was a man who was seeking salvation; God knew the desire of his heart and directed Philip to supply his need. There are people all around us who are sick of their lives, who are open to truth. We are called to help them understand. Do you have time to answer the call?
6. What must take place in our lives before we can witness to others? I John 5:10-13.
7. Is the time right to witness? Matthew 9:37-38.
8. What is the message with saving power? I Corinthians 1:18-21.
9. What is our reward for witnessing in addition to winning souls for Christ? I Peter 5:1-6.
10. How permanent is this reward? Psalm 46:1-3 & Psalm 48:12-14.
Note: Any truly born again child of God will have a burning desire to share the good news of the Gospel and declare to a lost world a God who cannot fail. Even though the Gospel may sound foolish to those who are lost, it is the only message that has power to save.
