Scripture Reading: Psalm 106:1-21.

Memory Verse: Psalm 106:19.

1. What excuse did Israel give for making other gods and not obeying the Law? Exodus 32:1-6.
2. Who informed Moses of their activities? Exodus 32:7-8.
Note: Moses was in the Mount for forty days; in that short time there came a seditious manner of having an object of religious worship made for them.
3. Why could they not keep God’s Law? Romans 8:7.
4. What did Moses ask of God? Exodus 32:31-32.
5. Who was waiting for Moses to return from the mountain? Exodus 32:17.
6. What unsatisfactory worshiping did Moses see? Exodus 32:19.
7. What molten image did the people worship? Psalm 106:19.
Note: God revealed their sins to Moses while he was in the Mount. It grieved Moses, he pleaded with God for them. As we make mistakes, many times those that love us and watch for us are pleading with God for us.
8. What did Moses do with the calf? Did it affect them? Exodus 32:20.
9. Which of Israel’s leaders was in the transgression of making the golden calf? Exodus 32:2 & Exodus 32:5.
Note: Aaron had a part in allowing the children of Israel to make the golden calf, but the idol was brought to nothing by their leader, Moses, and the people were made to literally swallow their own sins.
10. Who was to blame for this sin committed? Exodus 32:21.
11. How did Aaron try to justify himself? Exodus 32:22-24.
12. What did Moses do when Moses saw the nakedness of the people? Exodus 32:25-28.
Note: Aaron’s reply was too weak. The work of reaping began, three thousand were slain.
13. Who still interceded for Israel at this awful time? Exodus 32:30-32.
14. What did the Lord say as proof to Moses that He had accepted his plea? Exodus 33:16-19.
Note: The worshiping of the golden calf was an awful sin. They forgot God and put something in God’s place. We are in danger of this great sin today when we turn away our hearts from the Lord, unless we obey His Word and learn more about Him.
