Witnessing - How to Witness: Part 12 of 13

Preview: A study of how, why, and when we should witness for God. This is the twelfth lesson in a thirteen-part series on this subject.


Pre-reading: Romans 10:1-21.

Scripture Reading: Luke 16:19-31.

Memory Verse: Luke 16:15.

1. Is it difficult to witness effectively to those who justify themselves and ignore the teaching of Moses and the prophets according to the foregoing Scriptures?
Note: The Gospel of Christ does not contradict the teachings of Moses and the prophets. The Gospel magnifies it and makes it plain.
2. How did Paul address this subject? Hebrews 10:28-29.
3. How should we answer those who trust in their own good works? Romans 4:3-5 & Isaiah 12:2.
Note: Good works will not earn salvation; it is God’s gift to man, but salvation produces good works.
4. What do we say to those who think they are saved just because they joined a church? Titus 1:16 & I John 3:4-9.
5. How must we instruct those who claim to have faith in God but still live like the world? I Corinthians 6:9-10 & James 1:27.
6. How do we answer those who believe that a God of love could not punish sinners? Romans 2:4-8, II Peter 2:4-6 & II Peter 2:9-10.
7. How can we encourage backsliders to return to God? II Chronicles 7:14, II Chronicles 15:4 & I John 1:9.
8. How must we warn those who are skeptical? I Corinthians 1:18-19, I Corinthians 1:26-29 & II Thessalonians 2:10-12.
9. What is the bottom line for salvation? John 7:17, John 20:28-31 & Mark 16:15-16.
Note: The salvation plan is so simple that it is difficult for man to accept. Therefore, he is prone to set up his own plan for redemption. However, there is only one way into God’s Kingdom. We must believe the Scriptures, receive it for ourselves, confess it before men, trust God to do what He promised, and obey His Commandments. Then we are His disciples.
