Fear - The Benefits of Fearing God: Part 5 of 9

Preview: This is the fifth of a nine-part series of lessons entitled: FEAR.


Scripture Reading: Psalm 112:1-10.

Memory Verse: Psalm 111:5.

1. Discuss the benefits mentioned in the foregoing Scriptures for those who fear the Lord.
2. Can we have salvation and sinless lives without fearing God? Psalm 85:9 & Proverbs 16:6-8.
Note: The fear of the Lord is far more than a reverential trust and faith in him; it is knowing that He created us. He sees and knows all about us. Nothing is hidden from Him, yet He loved us enough to send His Son to die for our sins. If we fear God, we will love Him. If we love Him, we will keep His Commandments.
3. How do we know that everything that we say, think, and do is open before Him? Psalm 139:2-4, Proverbs 15:3 & Jeremiah 16:17.
4. Will there be a day of public judgment for all who do not fear God and depart from sin? II Corinthians 5:10, Luke 8:17 & Luke 12:3.
Note: Children should be taught from the cradle to the grave that nothing is hidden from God.
5. Can we be a right influence or an effective witness without the fear of God? I Peter 3:1-2 & I Peter 3:15.
6. What must we have in order to have God’s constant protection and deliverance from trouble? Psalm 33:18-19 & Psalm 34:7 & Psalm 34:9.
7. How do we acquire contentment and satisfaction? Proverbs 15:16 & Proverbs 19:23.
8. How do we obtain wisdom and knowledge? Proverbs 9:10 & Proverbs 15:33.
9. What are some other benefits of fearing God? Proverbs 10:27, Proverbs 14:27 & Proverbs 22:4.
Note: All of the things which we work and strive so hard to obtain have been given to us already if we will only fear God and keep His Commandments!
