Armor of God - The Shield of Faith: Part 9 of 13

Preview: This in the ninth part of a thirteen-part series entitled: ARMOR OF GOD.


Scripture Reading: Genesis 15:1-6.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 6:16.

1. Do we see from the foregoing Scriptures that God was a shield to Abraham because he had faith in God’s promises?
2. Did the Psalmist have faith that God was his shield? Psalm 3:3, Psalm 28:7, & Psalm 84:11.
Note: David had all confidence that the God whom he served could protect him from danger.
3. Did Solomon see God as a shield? Proverbs 30:5.
4. What did Paul declare Abraham’s faith to be? Romans 4:1-5.
5. How strong was his faith in the promises of God? Romans 4:19-22.
6. Must we also have this same kind of faith in order to be saved? Romans 4:23-25.
Note: Faith is a firm belief and dependency on an object, person, or doctrine. When our faith is in God and His promises He becomes our shield from the fiery darts of Satan.
7. How are our hearts purified and sanctified? Acts 15:9 & Acts 26:18.
8. How does faith justify us? Romans 3:22-24, Romans 3:30-31 & Galatians 2:16, Galatians 2:20-21.
Note: Faith in God’s faithfulness makes it possible to accept the gift of Jesus Christ who died for our sins.
9. How do we become a child of God? Galatians 3:22-26.
10. What other benefits do we receive from this shield of faith? Romans 5:1-2 & Ephesians 3:12, Ephesians 3:16-19.
Note: Faith gives us access to God who will give us boldness, confidence, and strength to fight the good fight of faith.
