Armor of God - Truth: Part 3 of 13

Preview: This is the third part of a thirteen-part series entitled: Armor of God.


Scripture Reading: Romans 1:16-25.

Memory Verse: Romans 1:28.

1. What results when we do not accept and obey the truth according to the foregoing Scripture Reading?
2. How do we arrive at truth? II Timothy 2:15 & Romans 10:9-17.
Note: We learn the truth from hearing the Word of God. We gain His approval by studying the Scriptures with a desire to understand and obey.
3. What is required in order for us to accept the truth? Hebrews 10:38-39 & Hebrews 11:6.
4. What else must we do? I John 1:8-10.
Note: Through faith we must first believe that God exists and rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Then we must confess our own sins and our need for a Savior.
5. Was Christ revealed to be this Savior? Matthew 1:21, I John 3:5-7, & Isaiah 55:7.
6. What else does truth teach us? Titus 2:11-12 & Romans 6:11-13.
Note: Truth teaches us how to live.
7. What can we expect in return when we obey the Word? Titus 2:13-15.
8. Who is our warfare with? Ephesians 6:12.
9. How do we gird up the loins of our minds? I Peter 1:3, I Peter 1:13-16.
Note: The Devil is battling for our minds and nothing will defeat him but the Word of God. We must cast out all reasoning of anything that keeps us from a total acceptance of and commitment to this truth.
10. Who alone makes it possible for us to win? I Peter 1:18-25.
Note: Satan and his human forces may even kill our bodies but he cannot touch our souls when we are in Christ. When we gird up our minds with truth we then have the mind of Christ. His was the mind of God. The battle then becomes the Lord’s and He never lost a fight.
