Preview: This is the second part of a two-part lesson on this subject.

Scripture Reading: Acts 10:9-19.

Memory Verse: Acts 10:34.

1. Who first heard the message on the day of Pentecost? Acts 2:1-5.
2. Did the early Christians begin preaching to all nations? Who did they teach? Acts 11:19.
3. Did Peter understand the vision on the housetop when it first appeared to him? Acts 10:17.
4. What happened to Peter while he meditated on the things he saw? Acts 10:19-20.
5. What did Peter do after the Spirit spoke to him? Acts 10:21.
6. What did the men tell Peter? Acts 10:22.
7. What did Peter say it meant when he finally understood the vision? Acts 10:28-29.
8. Did all the Church understand at that time? Why or why not? Acts 11:2-3.
9. What was Peter’s explanation? Acts 11:4-17.
10. What happened when they heard Peter's explanation? Acts 11:18.
11. How did Peter err from the lesson he learned through the vision? Galatians 2:11-13.
12. Why did Paul rebuke him publicly? Galatians 2:14.
Note: This reveals how deep seated is the sin of racial prejudice. Here we find the one who was the leading preacher on the day of Pentecost failing on this point, not because he didn’t know better, but because he didn’t think it was expedient to let those other Jews see him eating with and showing no respect of persons toward other races. In this instance Peter showed the same human characteristic that he did before Pentecost. He was the first of the apostles to say: “Thou are the Christ,” and the first to say: “I know not the man.” He was the first to say: “But God has shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean,” and the first to separate himself because of race. His actions had a strong influence on his companions. Let us beware lest we fall after the same example of unbelief.
13. What did the angel tell Philip? Acts 8:26.
14. Did he obey, and what did he see? Acts 8:27-28.
Note: The man he saw was an Ethiopian, and he had been up to Jerusalem to worship God.
15. What did the Spirit tell Philip to do then? Acts 8:29.
16. How did the eunuch respond to Philip's question? Acts 8:30-31.
17. What was necessary for the eunuch to be baptized into Christ? Acts 8:36-39.
18. Who will be found in the Kingdom of God? Revelation 7:9-10.
