Preview: How pride affects our lives. This is the second part of a two-part lesson on this subject.
Scripture Reading: Luke 18:9-14.
Memory Verse: Galatians 6:3.
1. Discuss the attitude of the two men described in the Scripture Reading. Which one does the Memory Verse apply to?
2. How does pride affect one’s attitude toward the poor? Psalm 10:2 & Psalm 10:8-11.

4. How does pride affect his conduct? Psalm 10:3 & Psalm 10:5-7.
5. What is the attitude and conduct of the humble? Proverbs 3:1-7.
Note: We can readily see that pride is far more than how we dress, what we drive, or how much money we have. It is a spirit of selfishness that honors man rather than God.
6. How can prosperity be a blessing from God? Proverbs 3:9-10.
7. Do shame and destruction follow a spirit of pride? Proverbs 16:17-18.
8. Is pride responsible for contention and wrath? Proverbs 13:10 & Proverbs 21:24.
9. Did pride cause the destruction of Nebuchadnezzar? Daniel 5:18-21.
10. Was pride the cause of the downfall of his son Belshazzar? Daniel 5:22-30.
Note: When we humble ourselves before God, He will lift us up and use us to His honor and glory. Let us no longer judge by outward appearance, but let God judge the inward man; the desire of the heart.
