Preview: When one is baptized into the Church they are filled with the Holy Spirit. What that does for us and to us is explained in this second part of a two-part lesson.


Scripture Reading: Acts 2:19-38.

Memory Verse: Acts 2:39.

1. What influence did Mary have on Elizabeth when she visited and saluted her? Luke 1:40-41.
2. Did she speak out in tongues as evidence that she was baptized with the Holy Spirit? Luke 1:42-43.
3. On the day of Pentecost did those who were filled with the Holy Spirit speak in other languages? Acts 2:4.
Note: The tongues that were spoken by the disciples on the day of Pentecost were all known tongues and were the emblem of the languages they were to speak, not like what we are hearing today.

10. To whom will the Holy Spirit be given? Acts 5:32.
11. For whom was this promise given? Was it for the Jews only? Acts 2:39.
