Preview: A lesson to help explain the end time prophecies in the Bible.

Scripture Reading: Matthew 3:1-17.

Memory Verse: Revelation 12:13.

1. What figure represented the Church to the Apostle John? Revelation 12:1.
2. What does a “woman” represent with reference to the prophecies? Jeremiah 6:2 & II Corinthians 11:2.
3. What does “light” represent? I John 2:7-11.
Note: Frequently in the Scriptures a “woman” is used to represent the Church. “Sun” represents the light of the Gospel with which the Church is now clothed. “Moon” represents the light of former dispensations. “Twelve stars” represents the twelve apostles.
4. How was the Church described prior to the birth of Christ? Revelation 12:2.
Note: There was much pain, affliction, and persecution just prior to, and during, the time of Christ’s birth.
5. How is the birth, work, and ascension of Christ briefly described? Revelation 12:5.
6. What other signs or wonders appeared in Heaven? Revelation 12:3-4.
7. Is the earth the only place Satan ever made war? Revelation 12:7.
8. What happened as a result of war in Heaven? Revelation 12:7-9.
9. What are the names given for the character who was cast down from Heaven? Revelation 12:9.
10. What was heard in Heaven following the casting down of Satan? Revelation 12:10-12.
11. Why was woe proclaimed to the world? Revelation 12:12.
12. What did the dragon do after being cast into the earth? Revelation 12:13.
13. What allotted period was given to the great persecution of God’s people under papal Rome? Revelation 12:14.
14. What was Satan’s design of persecution for the Church? Revelation 12:15.
15. How was he defeated in his attempt to completely destroy the man Child? Revelation 12:16.
16. What did Jesus say concerning the final persecutions? Matthew 24:22.
17. How does Satan manifest his enmity against the remnant Church? Revelation 12:17.
Note: To the end Satan will persecute and seek to destroy the people of God. In this war our weapons are not carnal, but spiritual. Let us, therefore, through faithfulness and obedience to the Commandments of God, and the Testimony of Jesus Christ, equip ourselves with the necessary armor, that the same voice which was heard in Heaven following the casting down of Satan might be heard from us at the end of all things.
