Preview: A review of the prophesied events that must take place before the second coming of our Lord.
Scripture Reading: Revelation 16:1-11.
Memory Verse: Revelation 16:17.
1. What is the wrath of God? Revelation 15:1.
2. What did John see the seven angels receive from the four beasts? Revelation 15:6-7.
3. Was the temple of God at that time open or closed? Revelation 15:8.
4. Upon whom was the first plague poured out? Revelation 16:2.
5. Will God’s people be denied buying and selling before the plagues begin to fall? Revelation 13:16-17.
Note: Surely God’s people will know when they are denied buying and selling that we have one year left until Christ comes. Revelation 18:8.
6. What does the second plague affect? Revelation 16:3.
7. What will be the third plague? Revelation 16:4.
Note: This must all take place before Christ comes. The first plague affects those who have the mark of the beast. The second plague affects the sea. The third plague comes closer to the habitations of men, and affects the land. The water supply is contaminated.
8. Why does the Lord give blood to the sinners to drink? Revelation 16:6.
9. What will be the fourth plague? Revelation 16:8.
10. Will the judgment of God lead men to repent? Revelation 16:9.
11. What will be the fifth plague? Revelation 16:10.
12. Why wouldn’t they repent? Luke 19:42.
13. What did Paul say the Lord would do for those that refused to heed the truth? II Thessalonians 2:10-11.
Note: When the Lord withdraws His Spirit men cannot repent, but rather curse God.
14. What takes place under the sixth plague? Revelation 16:12.
15. What gathers the nations to the great battle? Revelation 16:13-16.
Note: Some understand this to be the battle of Armageddon, but notice it is the battle of God Almighty; gathered into a place called Armageddon. It is not nation against nation; but nations against God Almighty, mark those words. The next plague is the coming of the Lord. Is it possible that God’s people at that time will not know that the Lord is near, even at the door? It will be the spirits of devils bringing all the kings together to battle God Almighty in a place called Armageddon. They just can’t be troubled with Elijah and God’s people.
16. What takes place under the seventh plague? Revelation 16:17-18.
17. How did it affect Babylon, islands, and mountains? Revelation 16:19-20.
18. How great was the hail? Revelation 16:21.
Note: The weight of a talent is 56 to 70 lbs and it is not chunks of ice. Surely God’s people will understand when the above takes place that the door of probation is closed, and Christ is at hand. The last sinner has repented. Christ has laid aside His priestly garments and has become King of Kings. By this God’s people will know that the hour of Christ’s coming is at hand.
