Preview: God’s people are not left in the dark about spiritual matters. Christ’s coming will not be a surprise to them when they recognize all of the signs prior to His appearing. This lesson seeks to help us to recognize the signs so we are not caught unaware.

Scripture Reading: Jude 1-16.

Memory Verse: Revelation 1:7.

1. Is it essential to know exactly why Jesus is coming again? Jude 14-15.
2. What effect will the second coming of Christ have upon the saints (the living and the dead)? John 5:28-29.
3. Will the coming of the Lord be a secret or will it be a great public demonstration? I Thessalonians 4:16-17.
Note: The second coming of Christ will be one of the greatest demonstrations this world has ever witnessed. It will be a demonstration of saints and angels, ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands in sparkling raiment. Their voices will echo and re-echo throughout the earth’s remotest bound. The coming of Christ will be personal, literal, visible, and glorious. He shall come in His own glory, and in the glory of His Father. “What rush of alleluias fills all the earth and sky! What ringing of a thousand harps bespeaks the triumph nigh! O day, for which creation and all its tribes were made; O joy, for all its former woes a thousand fold repaid!”
4. What location will Jesus occupy when he appears the second time, and what effect will it have upon that spot? Zechariah 14:4.
5. Whom will the Lord bring with Him at His second advent? I Thessalonians 4:14-15.
6. How will the resurrection come about, and what change will be necessary? I Corinthians 15:51-53.
Note: If men go to Heaven at death, why then is it necessary to have a resurrection? If our departed ones are now in Heaven and immortal life, then why should they obtain immortality at the resurrection of the just? The Scriptures tell us that men will receive their rewards at the second coming of Christ. Daniel said: “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
7. What effect will the coming of the Lord have upon this God-rejected world? Isaiah 2:17-21.
8. How long will the righteous reign with Christ? Revelation 20:4-5.
9. What great blessing has the Lord in store for His children? Luke 20:35-36 & Revelation 20:6.
10. Will there be a great supper served at the end of this dispensation? Revelation 19:7-9.
11. How will the Lord welcome the redeemed at this great supper? Zephaniah 3:17.
12. What is the difference between the supper of the great God and the marriage supper of the Lamb? Revelation 19:17-18.
13. How did John describe the reunion of the Church of God both in Heaven and on earth? Revelation 7:9-12 & Ephesians 1:10.
