Children's Christian Duties

Preview: Every child under God has a duty to Him and is a reflection on the family that is raising them. It is a parent’s duty to raise the child diligently under God, providing the guidelines and rules and correcting them when they stray from the path.


Scripture Reading: Proverbs 10:1-12.

Memory Verse: I Timothy 4:12.

1. Is a child known by his own doings or his parents’ doings? Proverbs 20:11.
2. How should a child respect his parents? Exodus 20:12 & Ephesians 6:1-3.
3. Should a child expect correction and punishment when he does wrong? Proverbs 23:13-14.
4. What will a child learn by correction and punishment? Proverbs 29:15.
5. In what ways should children obey their parents? Colossians 3:20.
Note: God expects children to obey their parents as He expects us to obey Him.
6. How should children respect the aged people? Leviticus 19:32.
7. Should young people let anyone think any less of them because of their age? I Timothy 4:12 (first part).
8. How can they have any control over what others think of them? I Timothy 4:12 (last part).
9. Who should be remembered by young people? Ecclesiastes 12:1.
10. Who should be the guide of the youth? Jeremiah 3:4.
11. Since when did Elijah fear the Lord? I Kings 18:12. How about David? Psalm 71:17.
12. What did Jesus do when He was twelve years old? Luke 2:40-52.
13. What warning did Solomon give a young man? Ecclesiastes 11:9-10.
Note: This should be a lesson for all young people interested in serving God. Let the rest of us apply it to ourselves: to have proper respect for others and to accept correction when we need it.
