This is a youth publication that was published in 1946. 15 VOL. NO 2 WAUPACA, WISCONSIN FEB 1946. It was a significant time in history, and the attitude at the time is reflected in the articles they published. They accepted submissions from all over for publication in the Beacon, and therefore, had quite a diversity of ideas. Everyone agrees, however, on the responsibility of each person to study and practice the Word of God as given to us in the Bible.
LET THE LOWER LIGHTS SHINE
THE CRUCIFIXION - CHRIST CRUCIFIED
WHY DID HIS OWN CHURCH PEOPLE CRUCIFY HIM? Christ was humble and loving to the poor, rich, and sick. He fed the hungry; He resurrected the dead; He healed all manner of diseases among His own people.
WHY DID THEY CRUCIFY HIM? He preached the word as no other man. He uncovered the secret things of the hidden word from the foundation of the world. Matthew 13:35. "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world."
WHY DID THEY CRUCIFY HIM? He paid His taxes, He was loved by many. He took no interest in political affairs, but devoted His whole life administering the word of God, teaching and preaching as no other man.
WHY DID THEY CRUCIFY HIM? With all the good deeds of Christ, and His short ministry period, He was accused of being a winebibber. He was accused of having a devil. John 7:20. "The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?"
As He entered the Synagogue at Nazareth, they delivered unto Him the book of Esaias. Luke 4:17. "And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written." He read a few verses, Isaiah 61:1-2. "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn." He made a few comments and it cut them to the heart. When those in the Synagogue heard those words, they rose up against Him, thrust Him out with the intention to push Him over the hill head long. Luke 4:28-29. "And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong." What was in His comments in His short sermon that moved them to take His life? To the average reader they cannot see anything out of the ordinary in that sermon. Read Luke 4:16-30 and see what you can gather from His words that caused a whole congregation to desire His life.
"16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
"17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
"18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
"19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
"20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
"21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
"22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
"23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
"24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
"25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
"26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
"27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
"28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
"29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that thy might cast him down headlong.
"30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way."
In the first place, to them Christ was illiterate, unlearned. To them Christ was Joseph’s son. To them Christ was the son of an adulterous woman. They were void of Spiritual understanding.
Christ had no college degree, Christ had never studied under any of their professors or prophets. In His short sermon, Christ declared: He would heal the broken hearted, preach deliverance to the captive, and recover the sight of the blind. To set at liberty them that are bruised. Luke 4:18. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."
He further declared He would preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:19. "To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."
As He closed the book, He gave the word that cut to their hearts, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” Luke 4:21. "And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."
He further stated, “No prophet is accepted in his own country.” Luke 4:24.
They pushed Him out of the Synagogue on that Sabbath day; Jesus passed through the midst of them. He made quick moves to get away from that angry mob that were thirsting for His blood, and put an end to His life. They didn’t want Christ to preach to the POOR, heal the SICK, nor recover the sight of the BLIND, or set at liberty those that were bruised.
But it was Christ’s mission from the Father, and Christ come to do the will of His Father, without the authority of the Church.
He preached with power and authority. This was His early ministry. He found His own people in a lost condition. Nicodemus came to Him by night for a private interview, and Nicodemus learned to his surprise that he couldn’t see or enter the kingdom of God, even though he was a child, a literal descendant of Abraham, unless he was born again of water and Spirit. Nicodemus was astonished at the second birth message, and said, “How can a man that is old, be born the second time?” But Nicodemus did not become offended or take exception, neither did he make any plans to take the life of Jesus, but gladly accepted the words of Jesus. John 3:1-5.
"1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
"2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
"3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
"4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
"5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
On another occasion the priests and scribes entered into a long controversy with Christ. Read John 8:32-59.
"32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
"33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
"34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
"35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
"36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
"37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
"38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
"39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
"40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
"41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
"42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
"43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
"44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murdereer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
"45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
"46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
"47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
"48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
"49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
"50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
"51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
"52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
"53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
"54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
"55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
"56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
"57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
"58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
"59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by."
They said, “We be Abraham’s seed” (children). Jesus said, I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in YOU. Jesus said, "If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a MAN that hath told you the TRUTH, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.” John 8:39-40.
The Jews said, “We be not born of fornication.” John 8:41. A direct reference to Jesus’ MOTHER. (They believed her to be an adulterous woman.)
They did not understand the virgin birth of Christ. Christ came with a message from God the Father, but they made plans to kill Him.
They believed that Christ was knocking their Church organization, as they knew not the true word of God, it was the word of God that knocked them. They were not able to prove that Christ was a devil or winebibber when it came to court.
Jesus told them, “…ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.” John 8:43-44. But the Jews answered Christ and said he was a Samaritan, and had a devil. John 8:48. "Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?" Notice the sharp argument. Many say today they don’t believe in any Scripture arguments, or knock (challenge) other Churches. But when the word, the truth, is given it destroys that which is not truth. The word of God will hit some Churches. We have a thousand Church divisions of this day. The man that claims to preach the word TODAY and doesn’t challenge any other Church is a compromiser and a coward.
We have many that will adjust themselves to please the people, with the Baptists they are Baptists, with the Methodists they are Methodists, with the Catholics they are Catholics. With the Jews they are Jews. They leave off the NAME OF JESUS. They are the class that Paul mentioned having itching ears. They have no definite message from God. Their worry is how they may please the people, and receive their money. II Timothy 4:3-4. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
Back to John chapter 8: They thought Jesus was of the Devil because He said He was before Abraham. John 8:41-53. (They knew not that Jesus was the Creator.)
Jesus said that Abraham rejoiced to see His day. Then the Jews picked up stones to cast at Him, but Jesus left the Temple immediately and came out without a scratch. John 8:57-59. (Praise the Lord.)
WHY DID THEY CRUCIFY JESUS? He brought them the true word of God. They accused Jesus of being a Sabbath transgressor, because He healed on the Sabbath day. John 9:16. "Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them." The Pharisees were a strong religious Sect. When the blind man was made whole, the Jews said, they knew this man was a sinner. John 9:24. "Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner."
The blind man didn’t know, but he knew he was blind and now he could see.
WHY DID THEY CRUCIFY JESUS? He told them the truth.
Jesus told the laity that their leaders were doing things to be seen of MEN. Jesus said do not after their works, for they say and do it NOT. Matthew 23:3. "All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not." This was a hard saying for the Pharisee leaders, Jesus said they were blind and leading the blind. But we hear some say Jesus never knocked other churches. How readest thou? Jesus said they were blind guides. Jesus said they were hypocrites. Jesus said they were like white washed sepulchers. Jesus said, “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?” Matthew 23:33.
WHY DID THEY CRUCIFY JESUS? He preached the true word of God. It was the word, the truth, that knocked their Churches.
If the word had not knocked the Pharisee’s and Sadducee’s Churches He would never have been crucified. Jesus did not approve of all winds of doctrine. The same Church that crucified Christ murdered the disciples and many others. THEY gave their lives that we might have the righteousness of Christ.
Today they plead for unity, to unite with them and preach their message, but a man of God, he will preach the word of God and please Jesus regardless of whom it may strike. The old pioneers when they hewed the logs to square them up, it didn’t worry them where the chips struck, they were interested in squaring up the logs; and likewise with a man of God. He gives the word in and out of season, and he lets it fall where it will. If we are to please all organizations we would be divided into a thousand pieces. The word of God leads us in all truth and not in all sectarianism.
WHY DID THEY CRUCIFY THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD? “If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.” John 11:48. (This uncovers the mystery.)
“The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.” John 19:7.
Jesus said, “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:20. (We have many Pharisees today.)
WHY WAS JESUS CRUCIFIED BY HIS CHURCH BRETHREN? He rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducees. He proved them to be the children of the Devil, because they would not receive the truth; and by their human laws they crucified Him, and numbered Him with thieves and murderers, rather than receiving the truth. (What a shame.)
WHY DID THE PHARISEES AND SADDUCEES CRUCIFY JESUS? To them Jesus was a trouble maker, he was endangering their Church and their nation, and by putting Him to death and His disciples, they believed their Church and their nation would stand through all eternity.
Christ was sent by the Father with a message of Salvation. The truth is like a light that destroys darkness. The Messengers of God must preach the word, he cannot approve of every wind of doctrine. We have a thousand religious organizations. Isms and Chisms. God is not the author of them all. The Holy Spirit guides every man in the same direction. The truth is not hard to find and understand if men are willing to do His will. John 7:17. "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."
If Abel would have compromised with Cain, he would not have been murdered. Abel’s righteousness was destruction to Cain’s religion. The righteousness of Jesus and the disciples were destruction to the Pharisees and Sadducees. But if Christ and His disciples would have compromised, they would not have been murdered. It is the Devil that wants men to approve of every wind of doctrine.
Reader, will you turn against Jesus because the word knocked their Churches? Will you hate the disciples because the word knocked their Churches? Choose this day whom you will serve. If you want every wind of doctrine to prosper, destroy the word (IF YOU CAN). Destroying God’s messengers will not destroy the word, as the word can never be destroyed or pass away. Matthew 24:35. "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."
Stand up for Jesus. Stand up for the truth, it will make you free. John 8:32. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Stand up for the man that gives the true word of God, and you will receive the blessings from Christ. The word of God cannot be destroyed, but the word of God will destroy that which is false.
The messengers of God are to call men out of Babylon, confusion, that they be not partakers of their sins, and that they receive not of her plagues. Revelation 18:4. "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."
“And other sheep I have, which are not of this FOLD: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be ONE FOLD, and ONE shepherd.” John 10:16.
Jesus did not approve of other folds. He admitted He had sheep in other folds, but He was not going to leave them there; but call them out, and they SHALL hear my voice, and there SHALL be ONE fold, and ONE shepherd.
Paul confirms the statement of Christ by saying, “There is ONE BODY, and ONE SPIRIT, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM, ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6.
Jesus laid the foundation, and His people will come to it, if we are of His Spirit. If Christ approved of many folds, or more than one fold, He would be the author of confusion.
There were different folds in the days of Christ, keeping the same day, but the majority was of the Devil. John 8:44. "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
If the messengers of God fail to warn His flock, the Lord will require the blood of the lost, at the watchman’s hand. Ezekiel 33:1-10.
"1 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
"2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
"3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
"4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
"5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
"6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
"7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
"8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
"9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
"10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?"
Woe to the man that knows the truth and will not sound it for fear of offense. Woe be to those that accuse the messengers of God of being a knocker of other Churches, as it is the truth that destroys darkness.
WHY WERE JESUS AND THE DISCIPLES MARTYRED? For preaching the true word of God. Why were Jesus and the disciples cast out, dragged out of their Synagogues and Churches, and why were some of them stoned? For preaching the TRUE WORD OF GOD. The truth was destruction to the Pharisees and Sadducees doctrine. See John 8:45.
"And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not."
In conclusion, Jesus said, “I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.” John 8:21.
The same battle is on today, and the question is: What side are you on? Are you neutral? Are you afraid of both sides, and hiding behind the Devil? If you are on God’s side you will accept the fold of Jesus, BODY OF CHRIST. It is the true word of God. See. I Corinthians 12:27. "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular."
“THE HOLY GHOST”
This is a subject that few understand, for most men have become lovers of themselves more than lovers of God. Boasters; proud, the Holy Ghost does not lead them. The Holy Ghost is here to guide the children in all truth.
Isaiah 44:3. "For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring."
Joel 2:28-32. "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call."
Luke 24:49. "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
John 14:26. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
John 15:26. "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:"
The Holy Ghost is the third person in the Godhead, and is seldom preached. We must first know the Father Jehovah, and the Son Jesus, and then we can keep His Commandments; as we can do all things through Christ.
I John 2:3-7. "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning."
John 14:23. "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
If we desire the Holy Ghost, we must ask for it.
Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:15-17. NOTICE: Another Comforter.
When Jesus was here on earth He was their comforter, and His people followed Him, and were comforted by Him, as He was a wonderful Man, the Son of God.
John 9:5. "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
John 8:12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
John 10:1-7. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep."
He proved that He was the Son of God by the great works He did for and among the people. And when it was asked of Him, was He the Christ, the Son of God; or should they look for another? Jesus answered.
See Matthew 11:2-6. "Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?"
John 1:7. "The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe."
& John 3:9-13. "Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."
All sins are forgiven if we confess and forsake them; turn from them.
Isaiah 55:7. "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
So now here is proof if we have the Holy Ghost with us, He leads and guides the people of God. When we know the truth of God and walk in it.
John 8:31-32. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Luke 24:49. "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
For without Him we can’t know all truth is given by the Holy Ghost.
II Timothy 3:16. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
He is a wonderful comforter in my life, and in yours if we have repented of our sins and believe the whole council of God, and are walking in all His Commandments, and been buried with Him in baptism; walking in newness of life. We are new creatures, old things have passed away. Then we must ask for the Holy Spirit and Jesus will give it.
Colossians 2:9-13. "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are cicumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses."
The Comforter is here and will be with God’s people till Jesus comes and takes His saints into His kingdom, in the earth made new. AMEN.
Now all those who cannot leave all filth of the flesh; may know while they live in this present world, that they are not led by the Holy Ghost, for He cleanseth the flesh and spirit from all its filth. But the Devil is wroth with all those who are led in all truth.
Revelation 12:17. "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."
Now let us see what relation the Commandments have to the truth of God. Psalm 119:151. "Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy commandments are truth.” Oh! How important it is to love God and keep His Commandments. Ecclesiastes 12:13. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” The Holy Ghost keeps us living clean, and doing the will of God; He leads us from sin unto righteousness, Thus saith the Lord. AMEN.
The Comforter will not lead us into beer gardens, taverns, dance halls, card parties, theaters, and gambling dens. He is not our leader when we defile our bodies with all kinds of habits, such as cigars, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, snuff and all other dopes and lustful habits. We are not to defile the Temple of God, which Temple we are.
I Corinthians 3:16-17. "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
The Holy Ghost will lead us to make a difference between the clean food, and the unclean.
Acts 10:14. "But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean."
Leviticus 20:25. "Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean."
As He leads in all truth.
Dear reader, please find the Scriptures we have mentioned in this message. Be free by doing, “Thus saith the Lord.” You will be happy to become a doer and not a hearer only.
John 13:17. "If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them."
Romans 2:13-15. "(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)"
I John 2:7. "Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning."
& Matthew 7:21. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
In conclusion may I request you to pray for the Holy Ghost to take full possession of you.
