1. Of what subject did Paul inform the brethren at Corinth? I Corinthians 12:1.
2. What did Christ give to men when He ascended? Ephesians 4:8.

5. What purpose would these gifts serve when they were bestowed upon the Church? Ephesians 4:12.
6. What result is to be obtained by the exercise of the gifts of the Church? Ephesians 4:13.
Note: These gifts bestowed upon the believers were to unify the Church and keep it firm in the Lord. Today we have many divided churches, all claiming to have the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Speaking in tongues, healing the sick, and other mighty works; yet they are divided. God’s intention for giving the Spirit was to unify the Church.

13. What promise did the Lord make through Joel to His Church? Joel 2:28-29.
Note: This promise was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost. The Spirit henceforth was to abide in the Church and hold His throne and seat there, as the Spirit of life abides in our bodies.
14. What are the characteristics of the Kingdom of God? Romans 14:17.
