Preview: Our physical and spiritual well-being are both very important to God.

 

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:9-23.

 

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2.

 

1. How may we glorify God? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 1 Corinthians 10:31.

2. What does Paul say regarding our bodies? Romans 12:1.

3. How does God require us to glorify Him? Revelation 14:7.

4. Does God require us to submit our physical habits to Him? Explain. 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

Note: God wants all of us to be healthy. Whatever we are doing within our lives that destroys our health and well-being must be rejected.

5. What are God’s words on alcohol? Proverbs 20:1, Proverbs 23:29-33.

6. What warning does God give to those that defile their bodies with drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and food that hurt them? Revelation 21:27, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.

7. What was God’s original diet? Genesis 1:29, Genesis 2:16.

Note: God’s original diet for man met all of our human needs perfectly, balancing our nutrients for our maximum health. 

8. What were the two classes of animals that were allowed on the ark? Genesis 7:2-3.

Note: The clean animals were to be used for food and sacrifices to God. They were put on the ark by sevens. The unclean animals were God’s sewage system and allowed on by twos.

9. How can you tell if an animal is clean or unclean? Leviticus 11:1-6.

10. What does God say regarding pigs? Leviticus 11:7-8.

Note: God’s outlined which foods would be safer and healthier for us to eat, and this has not changed with time.

11. How does the Lord regard seafood? Leviticus 11:9-12.

Note: The foods regarded as unclean are all scavengers, and sewage systems of the earth. God does not want His children eating from the garbage.

12. What has the Lord promised us if we obey Him? Exodus 15:26.

13. What will happen to those who continue to defy God’s health rules? Isaiah 66:17.

14. What has God promised to those who wish to overcome bad habits? Philippians 4:13.

15. Where does our power for victory come from and how can we obtain it? John 1:12-14.

 

Conclusion: We are weak and God is strong. Through His power we may overcome all of our bad habits and live a life of health in His word. His promises are available to all of us today, and the victory is ours to claim.
